Aapki Khabar Aapka Fayda: After EV Scooters Catch Fire, Nitin Gadkari warns of heavy penalty, says govt will take action against defaulting firms

A recent fire broke out in a removable EV battery of a pure electric scooter that charges at home in Hyderabad, killing an 80-year old man and injuring three others. Taking cognizance of the increasing incidents of electric two-wheelers catching fire, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said the companies found negligent will be penalised and a recall of all defective vehicles will be ordered after receiving the report of an expert panel that has been formed to enquire into the matter.
