Nearly a month ago the Mukesh Ambani-backed telecom operator, Reliance Jio had a technical mishap which revealed it’s soon to be launched broadband plans under –JioFiber.

Now, India’s largest telecom operator, Bharti Airtel launched its Big Byte plan offering six new plans to combat Jio and defend its broadband subscriber base.

The new plans by Airtel offer up to 1000GB additional data which the company said will be valid till March 31, 2018.

Airtel’s latest offer has plans ranging from Rs 599 going up to Rs 1599. All plans offer unlimited local and STD calling, along with different internet speeds and bonus data offerings.

Rs 599: Under this plan customers will get 20GB broadband data up to 8 megabytes per second and an additional 500GB per billing cycle.

Rs 699: The company is offering 30GB data at 16 Mbps and an additional 500 GB.

Rs 849: Customers will get 45GB broadband data at 40Mbps and an additional 750GB under the bonus offering.

Rs 999: With up to 40Mbps customers will get 60GB data and 750GB bonus offer.

Rs 1199: This plan offers customers 90GB data at up to 40Mbps for the month and an additional 1000GB bonus.

Rs 1599: Customers will get 160GB broadband data for the month at 100Mbps speed and 1000GB.

Speculated plans of the JioFiber is expected to offer 100GB of data per month at 100Mbps of speed for three months for free.

This would also entail an installation charge of Rs 4500. The launch of JioFiber is expected to come around Diwali of this year.

Currently only Reliance Jio has a nationwide presence of VoLTE services in India. This has pushed operators like Idea and Airtel to mull over nationwide launches as well.z
