Passengers carried by domestic airlines in January were 95.79 lakhs as per the data provided by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday.

“Passengers carried by domestic airlines during Jan 2017 were 95.79 lakhs as against 76.55 lakhs during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering a growth of 25.13%,” DGCA said.

Highest complaints received were passengers from Air India’s domestic flight which was 2.5 complaints per 10,000 passengers.

Most cancellations in the month were witnessed by budget carrier, Trujet, recording a total of 4.17% cancellation rate.

“The overall cancellation rate of scheduled domestic airlines for the month of Jan 2017 has been 1.10%,” DGCA said.
