Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular have responded to Reliance Jio with their own offers to counter the latter's new Rs 209 and Rs 399 plans. Airtel, Idea and Jio are now offering 84GB data plans at similar prices.

In a bid to lure new mobile subscriber base, India’s biggest telecom operator – Bharti Airtel is offering a special scheme for its new prepaid users only.
 
While going in for a new Airtel SIM card at retailer shops the company is offering first time users two kinds of plans – Rs 293 and Rs 499, a report by India Today said.
 
Both plans offer customers 84GB data at 4G speed however those opting for the Rs 499 plan will also get unlimited local and STD calls to all numbers in addition to free data, the report added.
 
The Rs 293 plan will have free calling only on Airtel to Airtel numbers.
 
Airtel’s new plans entail a daily fair usage policy of 1GB per day. Clarity on whether this is a one-time offer or will customers be able to avail of it post three months is not known.
 
Bharti’s new offer comes after newcomer Reliance Jio revised its 4G data plans to include new plans of a similar nature.
 
Jio is offering 84 GB data for Rs 399 for a period of 84 days, which works out to cheaper than Airtel’s new Rs 499 plan. The company is also offering its prepaid customers a Rs 309 plan offering 56GB data for 56 days only.
 
Idea
 
The telecom operator has offered a new prepaid pack of 84GB bundled data along with free calls for Rs 453.
 
However Idea is offering 3G internet speed in comparison to Airtel and Jio that are offering 4G, a report by Gadgets 360 said on Thursday.
 
Free calling on the plan will be applicable only up to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week, thereafter customers wil have to pay 30 paise per minute. If the data cap is exhausted users will be charged 4paise per 10kb.
 
Idea has a new Rs 16 recharge pack that provided access to unlimited data at 3G speed with a validity of one hour that competes with Vodafone SuperHour packs.
