Airtel is offering 30GB free data to users who upgrade to a 4G smartphone, under the company's 'Mera Pehla Smartphone’ programme. Airtel has come up with a new offer to try to fight off the strong Reliance Jio challenge and retain its apex position. For availing this offer, Airtel customers having 2G/3G mobile need to upgrade them to 4G smartphone besides being on the company’s network. Under 30GB data, Airtel is giving 1GB free data everyday for 30 days to its prepaid customers. It may be noted that free 1GB data will be over and above any pack that users recharge. The postpaid customers will however get 30GB additional free data with rollover facility in their first bill cycle.

Those who want to avail this offer should first check their eligibility and then only claim Airtel's free data benefits by calling on toll-free number 51111. Customers can do this through My Airtel App as well. Users will get 30 GB free data within 24 hours after making the claim. Under ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ scheme, Airtel has reached an understanding with handset manufacturers like Samsung, Intex, Karbonn, Lava, Celkon, Motorola, Lenovo and Nokia to provide users cashback offers and special bundled plans.

Through a statement, CMO, Bharti Airtel, Vani Venkatesh, said, “While 4G smartphones are fast becoming the norm, for millions of customers with feature phones/3G devices the upgrade to a 4G smartphone is a big decision and a long term investment.
