Stock Market Today HIGHLIGHTS: Out of the 15 Nifty sectoral indices, 14 were gainers at the day's end with lone loser in Nifty Realty. The overall market momentum was on account of strong rally in Nifty PSU Bank Index (+1.66%) which continued its upward momentum. Nifty IT (+0.81%) and Nifty Metal (+0.89%) were other major gainers.

Meanwhile, the broader markets such as Nifty Midcap and Smallcap closed mixed on Monday, the former down 0.05 per cent and the latter up nearly a quarter per cent.
The top gainers on Nifty50 were BPCL, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, Indusind Bank and Hindustan Unilever while the top losers were Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp, Hindalco Industries and Reliance Industries

The decline was widespread wherein auto, media and IT lost over a percent each. The broader indices too remained under pressure and lost nearly half a percent each on Thursday.
Amid the key outperformance by index-heavy BFSI space, especially corporate banks, the Q2 results were at 9 per cent, ahead of estimates wherein Nifty EPS came in at Rs 185 a share against an estimate of Rs 170 apiece.
