WhatsApp trick: Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is one of the most widely used apps in the world with over two billion active users globally. The platform is likely seeing a massive rise in usage now that everyone is working, studying or simply chatting with family and friends during corona lockdown. However, multi-tasking while working from home or even studying can be a challenge on a smartphone. To prevent having to switch between smartphone, laptop or desktop, here is how you can make your life easier. To avoid this, you can setup the platform on your laptop or desktop and complete all your tasks on the same device virtually in real time.
The Web version of WhatsApp was launched five years ago in 2015. WhatsApp Web is basically an extension of your phone. A lot of people are still not aware how to access it.
How to set up WhatsApp Web
- Go to web.whatsapp.com.
- Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
- Tap on the three dots at the top right corner and tap on “WhatsApp Web”.
- Scan the QR code on the web client with your phone.
- You will be connected.
Alternatively, you can install the WhatsApp Web application that is available for both Windows and Macbook. The users, however, need to keep in mind that the platform will only run on desktop if their smartphone have access to internet as well.
Once you are connected, all your chats and messages will be visible on the WhatsApp Web client. You can read chats and also send messages with attachments and all just like you do on your phone.
To disconnect, you will have to log out from the web interface. Otherwise the platform remains logged in.
You can use WhatsApp Web to download files between one computer system and another or between your laptop and phone. The platform syncs chat with your smartphone, so you can download attachments sent over a chat. You can also send a file from your PC using the WhatsApp Web and then download it on your phone.
