An SBI customer must take a note of the fact that if one's Aadhaar is not linked with PAN, the PAN will be rendered inactive. This means that the SBI customers will not be able to quote PAN numbers for conducting specified transactions. Hence, the SBI customers must link their 12-digit Aadhaar number with PAN in order to avoid any inconvenience.
Now, while linking the Aadhaar with PAN, an SBI account holder must ensure that the Aadhaar is linked with the bank account. To check if the Aadhaar is linked with the bank account, an SBI customer will have to follow some simple steps. They are as follows:
Step 1: One has to go to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in
Step 2: Now, click on 'Check Aadhaar/Bank Account Linking Status'’ in the 'My Aadhaar' tab.
Step 3: After that enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number
Step 4: Then one has to enter the security code and click on 'Send OTP'
Step 5: After this, one will get an OTP on the registered number through which one can log in
After logging in one can ensure whether the bank account is linked with the Aadhaar number or not.
For linking Aadhaar with PAN, SBI customers will have to visit the new official website of Income Tax India at incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Now, an SBI customer will have to follow these simple steps in order to link the Aadhaar with PAN:
