LIC unclaimed amount and outstanding option: LIC policyholders can check if they have any unclaimed as well as outstanding policy dues with the state-run insurer. In life insurance, an unclaimed amount refers to the amount of money that remains due to the beneficiaries or policyholders from the service provider. This due amount can be either your death claim amount, maturity claim, survival benefits, indemnity claims, premium refunds.
The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) gives its customers a facility to check their outstanding claims or dues with it. The status of your claims could be obtained from the LIC website. The customers just need to visit the website and enter their basic details like LIC Policy Number, Policyholder name, Date of Birth (DOB) (dd/mm/yyyy format) and PAN card details. While your LIC policy number and PAN card information are optional, the Policy Holder Name and DOB details are compulsory.
How to look for your unclaimed and outstanding amount
Go to the LIC Home Page. You will need to navigate to the bottom part of the page and look for the multiple bottom links. Just in case you find it difficult to locate it, you can search for 'Unclaimed Amounts of Policyholders' by entering 'unclaimed amount' as a key search word in the 'Search' tab on the right-hand corner of the home page.
Copy/Paste URL to directly reach to the page - https://customer.onlinelic.in/LICEPS/portlets/visitor/unclaimedPolicyDue... - to enter your details.
Once you find it click on the ‘Unclaimed Amounts of Policyholders’ option. Next, you will reach the page with the heading ‘Unclaimed and Outstanding Amounts to Policyholders’. This section of the LIC website can be used to know if any amount from your LIC policy is lying without being claimed.
After filling the details which will include mandatory inputs - policyholder name and your date of birth, press the 'Submit' option.
You will then be able to see if there are any unclaimed amounts under your LIC policy.

If you get to know that there is some unclaimed insurance money in your LIC policy, you or the beneficiary can get in touch with LIC directly and apply for the amount. LIC will start to process the unclaimed due payment once your KYC (Know Your Customer) formalities are complete. KYC is mandatory to avoid any fraudulent claims.
