7th pay commission: The wait of central government employees is getting longer day by day as they are yet to get any assurance for their demands of pay hike over and above the seventh pay commission. However, the news and developments related to the 7th pay commission have been coming in from various quarters.
Most recently, Haryana has announced the hiked DA of its employees to 9 per cent from 7 per cent earlier, following the footsteps of the central government. The hike is in line with the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. Now the Yogi Adityanath government is expected to announce a good news soon for the Uttar Pradesh government employees. The government may not only hike Dearness Allowance but may also give a bonus to the employees by October end. The move will benefit around 18 lakh employees.
The employees are currently getting 7% DA which will now be increased to 9 per cent. The hike will be implemented retrospectively from July 2018. This means the employees will also get arrears for three months. According to sources, the salary of lower level employees has increased by three to four thousand rupees while those at the middle level have received a hike of four to six thousand rupees after the implementation of the 7th pay commission. However, the salary of those above the Level 9 has increased three to four folds which have widened the gap between the salaries of lower and upper-level employees.
