Opening Bell: Sensex, Nifty open in green; Bank Nifty near 40,000-level
The domestic equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex opened in the green on Wednesday. Sensex gained 237 points to reach 60,275.21, while Nifty opened near 18,000-mark at 17,947.95.

Bank Nifty reclaimed 40,000-level, and reached 40,040.65 points in the opening trade, while Nifty Midcap Index opened at 8,800.65
Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India and Tech Mahindra were top gainers on Nifty, while Divis Lab and Tata Motors dragged the index maximum.
Earlier, in the pre-open session, Nifty nearly 100 points up from previous closing to 17,970.90, while Sensex rose by 246 points to 60,275.21. 20 shares advanced and 30 declined on Nifty50, while 27 advanced while three were in the red on 30-share Sensex in the pre-open session.

The Asian Markets traded negative on Wednesday morning as Hang Sang Index at Hong Kong Exchange was down over 200 points or 0.85% at 24,894, China's Shanghai Composite Index traded flat with negative bias at 3500 at around 8.30 am. Japanese Nikkei 225 index remained closed on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 138.79 points to 36,052.63, the S&P 500 added 0.3% to 4,630.65 while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.3% to reach 15,649.60-mark.
