Diwali 2022: On the occasion of Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the soldiers guarding the borders of the country in Kargil on Monday to celebrate the auspicious festival. Keeping his Diwali tryst with the soldiers alive, the Prime Minister landed in Kargil amid chilling cold to celebrate the festival of lights with the soldiers. The morning temperature was near the freezing point in Kargil.
The Prime Minister has been visiting the soldiers on national festival Diwali to identify with them and share their joy, since his days as the chief minister of Gujarat.

Explaining the significance of Diwali, the Prime Minister said, “It is the festival of the end of terror.” Drawing an analogy to Diwali the Prime Minister remarked that Kargil had done exactly the same and the celebrations of the victory are remembered even today.” Pic: IANS
