Biggest Cyber Crime Hubs in India: According to a study by an IIT Kanpur-incubated startup, Rajasthan's Bharatpur and Uttar Pradesh's Mathura have surpassed Jharkhand's Jamtara and Haryana's Nuh as India's infamous cybercrime hotspots. The study also found that the top ten districts account for 80 per cent of all cybercrimes in the country.
The Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF) mentioned the findings in its latest comprehensive white paper, titled 'A Deep Dive into Cybercrime Trends Impacting India'.
Bharatpur (Rajasthan)
This town in eastern Rajasthan is close to the borders of both Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, accounts for ober 18 per cent of all the cyber crimes committed in India.
Mathura (U.P.)
This town located in eastern Uttar Pradesh is famous pilgrimage for devotees of Lord Krishna. But of late it has gained notoreity for rising cyber crime, with 12 per cent of total number of cyber crime cases emanating from this region.
Nuh (Haryana)
Alongwith neighbouring Mathura in UP and Bhratpur in Rajasthan, Nuh has also become infamous for rising cyber crime, as it accounts for nearly 11 per cent of all cyber crime incidents in the country.
Deoghar (Jharkhand)
The city, a popular pilgrimage in the state of Jharkhand, has seen a sudden spurt in cyber crime cases. 10 per cent of all cyber crimes committed in the country have some relation with Deoghar.
Jamtara (Jharkhand)
A town so famous for cyber crime that it got its own Netflix series. It accounts forr approximately 9.6 per cent of all the cyber crimes committed in the country.
Gurugram (Haryana)
The IT hub situated in the Delhi national capital region is the source of 8.1 per cent of all the cyber crime committed in India.
Alwar (Rajasthan)
Is another sleepy town in Rajasthan that has seen a steady rise in cyber crime cases. Stats show that 5.1 per cent of all cyber crimes committed in the country have some relation with Alwar.
Bokaro (Jharkhand)
Officially known as Bokaro Steel City, this large and planned city in Jharkhand has become a hub for cyber criminals. It is the source of 2.4 per cent of all cyber crimes committed in the country.
Karmatand (Jharkhand)
It is doubtful if the nondescript Karmatand village in Jharkhand would feature in any top 10 list, but this one. The youths from this village are reportedly the reason behind 2.4 per cent of all the cyber crime committed in the country.
Giridh (Jharkhand)
Giridih is one of the 5 towns on this list of 10 cyber crime hubs in the country. Nearly 2.3 per cent of all cyber crimes committed in India can be tracked back to Giridih.
