Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to prepare and implement a new plan to ensure safety on travellers on these expressways.
In a bid to check gruesome accidents on Yamuna and Lucknow-Agra Expressways, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to prepare and implement a new plan to ensure safety on travellers on these expressways. Recently, a bus mishap took place on Lucknow-Agra Expressway, claiming 29 lives, injuring over 10 people critically.
The Chief Minister had formed three-member committee to probe the incident. The panel that probed into the bus accident on Monday has stated that the mishap occurred because the bus was over-speeding and the driver dozed off, said an IANS report.
After receiving the report, Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with state Transport Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Principal Secretary, Transport, Aradhana Shukla on Tuesday night, and reportedly ordered formulation of a new safety plan for the expressways.
The Chief Minister has reportedly asked to fill up all vacancies in the transport department at the earliest, besides asking officials to identify `black spots` and accident prone zones on both the expressways. He also directed that all helpline numbers should be printed on the toll tax slip.
