India vs Sri Lanka 2021 Squad: The squad for India's tour to Sri Lanka has been announced by the All-India Senior Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Shikhar Dhawan has been named the captain of the Sri Lanka tour in which the Indian cricket team will play a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20 series against the host. This India tour of Sri Lanka will kick start on July 13, 2021, with ODI at Colombo.

The BCCI has also tweeted about the Indian squad against Sri Lanka from its official Twitter handle.  The tweet said, "The All-India Senior Selection Committee picked the Indian squad for the 3-match ODI series & the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in July. #TeamIndia."

 

In these ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka,  Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named Dhawan's deputy. In the squad, Prithvi Shaw has got a call for the white ball cricket. Also, opening batsmen Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been named in the squad.

Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Nitish Rana have also found a place for themselves in the squad. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are the two wicket keepers who have been included in the squad.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, K Gowtham, Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy are the spinners in the squad and speedsters Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Chetan Sakariya have also been included.

The three ODIs will be played on July 13, 16, and 18. While the T20I series will commence on July 21, and the next two matches will be played on July 23 and 25. All the matches will be played in Colombo.

One must note that none of the players who have travelled to England as a part of the World Test Championship Squad has been included in the ODI and T20 squad against Sri Lanka. The World Test Championship final will start from June 18, 2021, where Virat Kohli and his men will take on New Zealand at Lord's.

With many of the key players in the World Test Championship Squad, it is certainly going to be a challenge for new captain Dhawan to lead his men against Sri Lanka.
