As Coronavirus cases continue to surge across country, it has been decided that remainder of the India vs England T20 matches will be played without audience. Remaining India vs England T20 matches will be played at empty Narendra Modi Stadium, formerly Motera Stadium, in Ahmedabad. It was confirmed by BCCI.  "The BCCI in consultation with @GCAMotera has decided to conduct the final three T20Is against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium behind closed doors," posted BCCI on Tweeter.

Earlier on Monday evening, it was confirmed by Gujarat Cricket Association. The statement also read that the Association will refund the money to all the fans who purchased the tickets. This step has been taken following the spike in COVID-19 cases in the state.

In the second T20I, 50 per cent of spectators were allowed to enter the stadium and about 57,000 flocked to the state-of-the-art stadium. 

This comes as a disappointment as fans , who have missed watching their heroes play for a long time due to the pandemic, will again have to watch them on their TV screens. 

However, In a good news for cricket fans, India pacer Jasprit Bumrah and TV presenter Sanjana Ganesan tied the knot at a private ceremony in Goa on Monday (March 15).
