India scored 364 runs in the first innings with KL Rahul scoring a spectacular knock of 129 runs. In reply, England scored 391 runs with their skipper Joe Root leading from the front who remained not out at 180.

In the second innings, Cheteshwar Pujara scored 45 runs and Indian Vice Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 61 runs. Mark Wood led the English bowling attack with three wickets in the second innings. Moeen Ali took two wickets and Sam Curran took one wicket.

India will play five tests against England. The first test at Nottingham ended in a draw. The third test is scheduled to commence from August 25, 2021.
