Nobel Peace Prize 2022: The winner or winners of Nobel Peace Prize 2022 will be announced on October 7 in Oslo, Norway. Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to individuals or organisations who had done most for "fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".

Between 1901 and 2021, the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded 102 times to 137 laureates.  While the award has so far been given to 109 individuals, there are 28 organisations that have the prestigious award. 

How did it start?

It was Alfred Nobel who signed the last will on November 1895 and donated a major chunk of his fortune to a series of prizes in in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and Peace.
