World's richest man Jeff Bezos continues to add to his net worth and increase the gap from those behind him. The Amazon founder added $13 billion to his net worth in just a single day after the shares of his company surged by almost 8% on Monday. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos’ net worth now stands at a whopping $186 billion Wednesday, $68 billion more than Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who is placed second on the world’s richest persons list with a net worth of $118 billion.

The third spot is grabbed by Bernard Arnault ($95.1 billion), chairman and chief executive of LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton SE. What’s fascinating though, is that Bezos’ net worth is now more than the combined fortunes of Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, placed on fourth and fifth spot, respectively.

Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth stands at $91.8 billion while Ballmer’s worth is at ($75.1 billion. Notably, Mukesh Ambani is currently the sixth richest man in the world with a total wealth of $74.3 billion. He is followed by Google co-founder Larry Page.

Amazon.com Inc founder’s wealth is more than even the market capitalisation ($178.6 billion) of US-based tech giant Adobe which is the tenth most valued company on the Nasdaq Composite Index (as of Wednesday). 

In 2020, the 56-year-old founder of Amazon witnessed his personal fortunes improve by a staggering $74 billion despite a global recession in the pandemic-devastated year.

As per a report by Comparisun, Jeff Bezos is poised to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2026. The study mentioned that Bezos would become a trillionaire ( $1,000 billion) by 2026.
