Imran Khan Arrest Live Updates: The impasse between Imran Khan's supporters and police continued for the second consecutive day on Wednesday near the former Prime Minister’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore. According to reports, tear gas shells, burnt tyres and vehicles litter the roads. The area has turned into a battleground after supporters of Imran Khan clashed with police personnel to stop them from arresting the ousted Pakistan Prime Minister. Notably, a contingent of the Islamabad police along with armoured vehicles, reached Imran Khan's Lahore home to arrest him after a non-bailable warrant was issued in the ongoing Toshakhana (gift depository) case. However, Lahore High Court finally stepped in to stop police operation at Zaman Park till 10am on Thursday, reports said.

    Lahore's Zaman Park area has turned into a battleground. Police personnel near Imran Khan's Zaman Park residence have been joined by a heavy contingent of Punjab Rangers to launch a fresh attempt at arresting the ousted Pakistani premier for failing to appear in court on graft charges on Wednesday.

    Imran Khan was ousted from power in April last year after losing a no-confidence vote, which he alleged was part of a US-led conspiracy targeting him because of his independent foreign policy decisions on Russia, China and Afghanistan.

    Since then, Khan has been asking for early elections to oust what he termed an "imported government" led by prime minister Shehbaz Sharif. Sharif has maintained that elections will be held later this year once the parliament completes its five-year tenure.

    Khan asked his supporters to "come out" to fight for real freedom and to continue the struggle even if he is killed or arrested in a video message that was released by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on social media as police arrived at his Zaman Park residence to arrest him in the Toshakhana case as per the PTI report.
