Commodities Live: Rupee Hits Record Low For For Fourth Straight Session, Touches 79.88 Against Dollar

At the end of trading, the rupee has weakened by 25 paise to close at 79.88 today. Rupee fell 1% in a week and 2.2% in a month. This year, the rupee weakened by more than 6.5% against the dollar. Due to the rise in the dollar, the pressure in the rupee increased. The dollar index crossed 108 to a 20-year high. Dollar index jumped 17% in one year. The dollar witnessed continuous buying of hedge funds for 51 weeks.
