WPL Auction 2023: The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League is set to be played in Mumbai from March 4th to 6th 2023. A total of 22 matches will be played with the Brabourne Stadium & D.Y. Patil Stadium playing hosts to the marquee tournament. The stage has been set for the much-awaited player auction.

The Women’s Premier League 2023 auction is set to take place in Mumbai on February 13, 2023. The auction will start at 2:30 PM.

WPL Auction 2023: Venue
The Women’s Premier League 2023 auction will take place at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. As per BCCI, a total of 1525 players registered for the inaugural Women’s Premier League Player Auction & the final list was pruned to 409 players.
Out of the 409 players, 246 players are Indians and 163 are overseas players of which 8 players are from associate nations. The total number of capped players are 202, uncapped players are 199 and 8 are from associate nations.

WPL Auction 2023: Base Price
Rs 50 Lakhs is the highest reserve price with 24 players choosing to be slotted in the highest bracket.
WPL Auction 2023: Available Slots
A maximum of 90 slots are available with the five teams, wherein 30 slots are for overseas players.
Team India Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and India’s Under-19 T20 World Cup-winning captain Shafali Verma are among the few Indians who have slotted themselves in the highest bracket.
13 overseas players have also slotted themselves under the Rs 50 Lakh reserve price. 30 players are in the auction list with a base price of Rs 40 Lakh.
