IPL cheerleaders keep the crowd entertained and on their feet by performing after every four or six is hit and a wicket is taken. They also put up performances during drinks and inning breaks to keep the energy high. Cheerleaders have made their entry back into the IPL this year after they were not been seen for a few seasons due to Covid-19 protocols.  

IPL 2023: What is the salary of cheerleaders?

As per the media reports and sources, the IPL cheerleaders for each team get paid Rs 14,000 to Rs 17,000 per match. Cheerleaders also get a bonus if their performance is good and if their team wins the match.

As per a report by cricfacts, teams like CSK, Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals pay their cheerleaders over Rs 12,000 per match.

Teams like Mumbai Indians and RCB pay them approximately Rs 20,000. And the highest-paid cheerleaders are from KKR, who are paid approximately Rs 24,000 per match. 

Apart from the salary, they also get benefits such as luxury accommodation, food per diem, and other facilities during their stay in India.

IPL 2023: How IPL cheerleaders are selected?

IPL cheerleaders should have experience in dancing, modelling, and performing in front of large crowds. It is also considered a plus if they are part of a group and are auditioning as a group.

The IPL cheerleader selection process is difficult and consists of many interviews and written evaluations. They are also expected to have a performance ready when they are auditioning for the part of an IPL cheerleader.
