The first T20I was abandoned due to rain in Durban, and in the second T20I, rain interrupted the Indian innings in the 19th over, but later, South Africa went on to win the match by five wickets (DLS method) in Gqeberha. The third T20I is set to be played in Johannesburg, and fans do hope that they can enjoy a good game of cricket without the rain interrupting play. The T20I series will be followed by a three-ODI and a two-Test series in South Africa.

Second T20I Match Recap:

In the second T20I, India was put to bat first by South Africa. India has a dreadful start to the innings with both openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal getting out for a duck. The innings was later stabilised courtesy of a 36-ball 56 by skipper Suryakumar Yadav and an explosive 39-ball 69 by Rinku Singh.

The Indian innings was later interrupted due to rain with 180 runs on the board in 19.3 overs. Gerald Coetzee picked up three wickets for Proteas with Tabraiz Shamsi being the most economical bowler with a 4.50 run rate in his four overs.

After more than 10 minutes of rain and 20 minutes of play being interrupted, the match resumed with India setting a target of 152 runs, which Proteas had to chase down in 15 overs (DLS Method).

South Africa had a great start to the innings with 38 runs coming in the first two overs and they scored 67 runs in their five-over powerplay while losing just one wicket. India was struggling because of the wet conditions, which made the ball slippery and difficult for the Indian bowlers to get a good grip.

South Africa took full advantage of the conditions and easily chased down the target in 13.5 overs as they won the match by five wickets. Reeza Hendricks played a great inning of 49 off 27 balls for Proteas with skipper Aidem Markram also smashing 30 runs off 17 balls. Mukesh Kumar picked up two wickets for India.
