Later, the Indian squad played some phenomenal cricket and raised a lot of eyebrows at England's 'bazball' style of cricket.

India have been deprived of the services of their batting mainstay, Virat Kohli, for the entirety of the series and also of in-form KL Rahul for the last three matches. Along with some crucial players like Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, who didn't play the 2nd test and the 4th test, respectively.

Despite the lack of these players in the squad, India managed to crush the English opposition with the help of some young talents who even made their debut in the series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, and Akash Deep, along with Shubman Gill, showed some grit on the field, which annihilated the opposition.

Jaiswal has smashed the most runs so far in the series, including two double centuries. Dhruv Jurel, Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan have also played some brilliant innings when required.

Akash Deep also had a dream debut in the 4th test, as he picked up three wickets in the first innings.

Not to mention some brilliant bowling performances from the experienced bowlers, Jadeja, Bumrah, Ashwin, and Kuldeep, who created a hard time for the English batters while they were on the pitch. Ashwin became the highest wicket-taker in Tests for India during the series, surpassing Anil Kumble in the process. Jadeja also had some great spells, not only with the bat but also with the ball, as he picked up a fifer and made a ton in the third test. Kuldeep and Bumrah also had some great spells with the ball, as they were sometimes unplayable.

Also, Kuldeep and Jurel held the Indian batting quite well during the first innings of the 4th test when the lineup was on the verge of collapse with 177 for 7 on board. Kuldeep and Jurel made 28 off 131 balls and 90 off 149 balls, respectively.

India has already won the series; however, a win at Dharmasala will allow the squad to maintain the top spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) table.

Bumrah is set to return to the squad for the final test, and KL Rahul has been ruled out of the fifth and final match. Apart from that, it is expected that there will be major changes to the Indian squad ahead of the final match.

England, on the other hand, hasn't announced any major changes in the squad ahead of the final test. However, England will look forward to getting a consolation win and keeping their chances alive for a better finish in the WTC table under skipper Ben Stokes, who has lost his first test series as England's captain in the ongoing tourney.
