Lakshya Sen also sailed into the men's singles pre-quarterfinals with a straight game win over Spain's Luis Penalver.

Kidambi Srikanth crashed out after a straight game defeat to world number 32 Zhao Jun Peng.

Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly’s campaigns end after they lose to Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan.

Pooja-Sanjana and Ashwini-Sikki both bowed out after losing to Lee-Shin and Chen-Jia respectively.

Indian men’s doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and M.R Arjun is through to the third round after upsetting eighth seed Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup. They will face Hee Yong Kai Terry and Loh Kean Hean of Singapore next.
