Jose Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and skipper Sanju Samson scored a half-century each, with Rajasthan Royals scoring 203/5 against the host team. While Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 131/8 after 20 overs.

Punjab Kings have also kickstarted their IPL campaign with a win against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), defeating them by 7 wickets. KKR skipper Nitish Rana won the toss and elected to field against Punjab Kings. In the first half, PBKS scored 191 for five wickets in 20 overs. While in the second half, KKR managed to score 156 for seven after 16 overs when rain stopped play. Later, due to heavy rains, the match could not resume. With this, Punjab defeated Kolkata on the DLS method at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Saturday, April 1.
