Both teams don't share a great history as a franchise, as both teams have never managed to lift the coveted trophy in the 16 years of IPL's history.

DC, however, had enjoyed some good patches in recent years, getting into the top four spots in 2019 and 2020 and eventually going into the finals for the first time in the franchise's history.

They also managed to qualify for the playoffs on six occasions, compared to just two appearances for Punjab.

Despite that, both teams weighed equally whenever they faced each other in the IPL. Both Delhi and Punjab have faced each other 32 times and have won 16 matches each, making it a fairly equal affair.

The biggest win that Delhi has ever registered in terms of runs against Punjab in the IPL has to be their 51-run win back in 2017 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium (formerly known as Feroz Shah Kotla). In addition to that, Delhi also boasts a 10-wicket (D/L method) win back in 2009.

For Punjab, their biggest triumph against Delhi has to be their 10-wicket win in 2017, when they bowled out DC for 67 runs and chased the target down in just 7.5 overs.

In terms of runs, Punjab registered their biggest win last season, winning the match by 31 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, in which Prabhsimran Singh smashed a brilliant 103 in just 65 balls.
