IPL 2024: Carnage.! It was simply carnage at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium today, April 15, when the Sunrisers Hyderabad tore apart a feeble Bengaluru bowling lineup, breaking their own record of the highest IPL total. SRH scored a mammoth 287 runs in 20 overs, losing just three wickets in the process.

SRH has pulled off this monumental feat riding on the backs of their big guns like Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Abdul Samad, who wreaked havoc on the RCB bowlers.

Head gave SRH a great start to the match as he made a brilliant 102 off just 41 deliveries — getting the hundred off 39 balls — making it the fastest century in IPL history by any SRH player. Klaasen also showed his class with the willow as he smashed a brilliant 67 off 31 deliveries. The final blow was provided by Abdul Samad, who just went berserk with the bat, smashing 37 off just 10 balls.

No RCB bowler was spared by the SRH storm, as not a single bowler had an economy rate below 10. Manipal Lomror took the most hits, giving away 18 in his one-over, followed by Reece Topley, who gave away 68 in his four. Lockie Ferguson, who made his debut for RCB today, had the best figures as he gave away 52 runs and picked up two wickets in his four overs.

With this score, SRH broke their own record for the highest IPL total in the same season when they smashed 277 runs against Mumbai Indians back on March 27, 2024, in Hyderabad. Regardless, it was just an indiscriminate bloodshed by the SRH batters on the RCB bowlers.
