IPL 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, announced the rescheduling of two Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 matches played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) and between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

According to the release, the fixture date between KKR and RR will now be played on April 16. It had earlier been scheduled to take place on April 17 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Additionally, the match between GT and DC will be played on April 17 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, at Ahmedabad, which was earlier scheduled to be played on April 16.

"The fixture between Kolkata Knight Riders & Rajasthan Royals, which was earlier scheduled to take place on April 17, 2024 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata will now be played a day prior on April 16, 2024. The Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad was earlier scheduled to host the match between Gujarat Titans & Delhi Capitals on April 16, 2024. The fixture will now be played on April 17,  2024," BCCI mentioned in the press release.

BCCI hasn't specified any reason for the rescheduling of both fixtures, but according to reports, the KKR-RR tie was rescheduled due to Ram Navami.

Additionally, it was revealed that Kolkata Police had expressed its incapacity to provide sufficient security for the team's third home game of the season, three days after hosting the Lucknow Super Giants.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) had previously recommended preponing the match by one day, to April 16, or postponing it by one day, to April 18.
