All the teams passed through the grind of 14 league matches each, which were full of excitement and heartbreak. And there is likely to be more in store as the contest moves to the playoff round.

IPL 2023 PLayoffs: Teams

Gujarat Titans

They started this IPL season from where they left last year.

With 10 wins in 14 matches, Gujarat emerged as the table toppers with 20 points in their kitty, three points more than the nearest team.

For their scintillating performance in the league stage, the Hardik Pandya-led side has an edge.

Even if Gujarat lose against CSK in the first qualifier on Tuesday, they will still have one more chance to qualify for the May 28 final on Friday.

However, GT have an edge on Tuesday as they beat CSK in the opening match of IPL 2023 at the same stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium, on March 31.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK lost their opening match in IPL 2023 against GT.

Despite that, Dhoni-led CSK always looked like a factor in the tournament.

While Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad led their batting front, Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja were good with the ball.

They helped CSK win 8 out of 14 league matches and collect 17 points.

With a thumping win over Delhi Capitals on Saturday, they became the second team to qualify for playoffs.

Dhoni will try his level best to take the team to the title in a tournament that could be his last IPL.

Lucknow Super Giants

LSG also reached playoffs in their inaugural IPL last year, but their campaign ended with a loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Krunal Pandya-led team was on the mark from the beginning of this IPL as it beat the likes of Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals.

The team lost its way midway through the tournament, but won three back-to-back league matches at the fag-end of the league stage to storm into playoffs with 17 points from 14 matches.

They will meet Mumbai Indians in a must-win Eliminator in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Mumbai Indians

Five-time champions MI's fate hung in the balance till Gujarat Titans beat Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday.

However, Mumbai's 16 points in 14 matches came handy for them as they became the fourth team to reach playoffs.

MI's pin their hopes on star batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan, all-rounder Cameron Green, and bowlers Piyush Chawla and Ravi Bishnoi.
