This will be the second meeting between both teams.

In their only previous meeting at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Lucknow won the match by six wickets with three balls to spare.

In the match played on March 31, 2022, Chennai batted first.

Chennai posted a fine 210/7 thanks to Robin Uthappa's 50 runs (27 balls) and Shivam Dube's 49 runs (30 balls). Avhesh Khan, Andrew Tye, and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each for Lucknow.

In reply, Lucknow openers, skipper KL Rahul 40 runs (26 balls), and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock 61 runs (45 balls), provided a scintillating start to their team and knitted 99 runs in 10.2 overs for the opening partnership.

Man-of-the-Match Evin Lewis's fireworks of 55 runs in 23 balls with six fours and three sixes capitalised on the opening partnership and powered Lucknow to an easy win against formidable opponents.
