Uttar Pradesh Rampur Sadar Bypoll Result: Akash Saxena won with 80964 votes while Mohd. Asim Raja of Samajwadi Party is in the second spot with 47262 votes.
Uttar Pradesh Rampur Sadar Bypoll Result: In a setback to Samajwadi Party, Mohd. Asim Raja has lost Rampur Sadar bypoll to Bharatiya Janata Party's Akash Saxena. The BJP candidate defeated Raja by a huge margin of over 33000. It is to be noted that Rampur Sadar is considered to be a bastion of Azam Khan. The by-poll in Rampur Sadar was necessitated after SP MLA Azam Khan was disqualified.
Other candidates in the fray were Jayvir Singh (Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party), Shiv Prasad (Bahujan Andolan Party). Independent candidates were Imtiyaz Ur Rehman Khan, Mohd. Irfan Khan, Zunaid Khan, Moin Khan, Rajander Singh and Sandeep Singh.
Akash Saxena won with 80964 votes while Mohd. Asim Raja of Samajwadi Party is in the second spot with 47262 votes.
