Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 4 Schedule Latest News Update: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday, March 16, announced the full schedule of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and said that voting will be carried out in seven phases as in 2019. Here's the full schedule for voting under the fourth phase (Phase 4) in the upcoming general polls.

Voting under the fourth phase will take place in eight states or UTs on May 13, according to the ECI.

A new government must be elected before the expiration of the current term of Lok Sabha due on June 16, 2024. 

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that the world's eyes will be on India for its grand democratic process. Logistics and arrangements play a self-explanatory role in the world's biggest democracy, the CEC added, asserting that the ECI had planned all the arrangements thoroughly to ensure a fair election process.

The CEC said that as many as 10.5 lakh polling stations, and 1.5 crore polling officials and security staff will be deployed in the polling exercise, which will be carried out using 55 lakh electronic voting machines (EVMs).

The Chief Election Commissioner also announced the schedule of Assembly polls in four states: Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim.
