Ultra-aggressive campaigning from various political parties for the high-octane Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022 is in full swing. With an aim to bag maximum seats in Gujarat Elections 2022 Results, BJP, AAP, Congress and others seems to be leaving no stone unturned in upping the ante against each other.

After the deadline for the withdrawal of Gujarat Elections 2022 nominations got over, a total of 1,621 candidates are left in the fray for the next month's high-decibel elections. The last day of withdrawal for the second phase was Monday.

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that who will be at the helm of the state after Gujarat Elections 2022 Results are declared. BJP is eyeing to retain power, while AAP is claiming that they will be forming the government in Gujarat. 

The ruling BJP has said Bhupendra Patel will remain the chief minister of Gujarat if the BJP secures a majority. However, AAP has announced Isudan Gadhvi as its CM face for Gujarat Elections 2022. 

So far, Gujarat has seen many CMs, starting from Jivraj Narayan Mehta to current CM Bhupendra Patel.

But, since Narendra Modi became PM, Gujarat has seen 3 chief ministers in the past 8+ years.

Let's take a look at the list of all 3 CMs seen by Gujarat after Narendra Modi became PM.

Anandiben Patel 

Anandiben Patel served 2 years, and 77 days as the 15th Chief Minister of Gujarat

Vijay Rupani

Bhupendra Patel is an incumbent who serving since 13 September 2021 as the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat

Gujarat Elections 2022: Polling, candidates

-Elections to the 182-member Assembly would be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. 

-For the 93 seats where elections would be held in the second phase, there are 833 candidates in the fray

- As many as 788 candidates are in the fray for 89 seats that will go to the polls in the first phase of elections, the release added. 

-The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded candidates on all 182 seats, while Congress has fielded candidates on 179 seats while it allocated three seats to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) as part of a pre-poll alliance. But with the NCP candidate withdrawing his nomination for the Devgadh Baria seat, the party is contesting two seats. 

AAP 

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also fielded candidates on all 182 seats, but its candidate withdrew his nomination from the Surat East seat, so it will end up contesting 181 seats. 

AIMIM

All Indian Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) fielded candidates in 14 Assembly seats but its candidates withdrew from Bapunagar seat. 

Gujarat Elections 2022: Phase 1 Polling 

- Constituencies in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch region and south Gujarat will go to the polls in the first phase. 

-These districts are Valsad, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Narmada, Botad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Porbandar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Morbi, Surendranagar and Kutch. 

Gujarat Elections 2022: Phase 2 Polling

In the second phase, seats in the districts of central and north Gujarat, that is, Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Kheda, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara and Chhota Udepur will go to the polls.

The counting of votes for both phases will be held on December 8.
