73% happy with PM Modi's work

As many as 73.02 per cent of the respondents of a survey are satisfied with Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s work since he assumed office nine years ago, while 25.8 per cent feel otherwise.

According to the survey, as compared to 2023, in 2022, 74.15 per cent respondents were satisfied with Modi`s work, while 24.53 per cent felt the opposite. In 2021, 62.05 per cent of respondents were satisfied with Modi`s work, as compared to 2020 when the figures stood at 82.96 per cent.

53.8% feel Modi regime retained a clean, corruption-free image

As many as 53.8 per cent of the respondents of a survey are of the opinion that the Narendra Modi regime, despite the allegations levelled by his critics, has retained a clean and corruption-free image over the past nine years since assuming office.

However, 37.3 per cent of the respondents feel the contrary, while 8.9 per cent say that they cannot comment on the issue.

According to the survey, 55.2 per cent of the respondents from the rural areas and 50.5 per cent from the urban areas feel that the BJP-ruled Central government has retained a clean and corruption-free image over the last nine years.

Over 48% find Modi most suitable for PM’s post

Narendra Modi still remains the first choice for the Prime Minister`s post even after nine years in power, as more than 48 per cent respondents of a survey feel that he is the most suitable candidate for the top post.

Modi is followed by former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi with 18 per cent respondents backing him. The survey said that 48.68 per cent respondents find Modi as the most suitable candidate for the post of Prime Minister, followed by 18.12 per cent respondents backing Rahul Gandhi.

The survey showed that Modi’s popularity has taken a hit in the last five years. On the other hand, the popularity of Rahul Gandhi has increased in the last five years.

Opinion divided over communal tension in 9 years of BJP govt

Opinion was divided on the rise in communal tension across the country in the last nine years of the BJP rule at the Centre, as about 43 per cent respondents of a survey feel that it has gone up, while 28 per cent feel otherwise.

The survey said that 42.9 per cent of the respondents feel that communal tension has increased in the last nine years, while 28.4 per cent feel that communal tension has not increased at all. Also, 22.2 per cent respondents feel that communal tension increased to some extent, while 6.5 per cent said that they cannot comment on the issue.

Near 50% of Opposition voters say Modi takes strong decisions

Close to three out of every five Indians are of the opinion that the Narendra Modi regime has been marked by "strong decisions" over the last nine years.

During the survey, 48 per cent of UPA supporters stated that the "Modi regime has taken strong decisions". The numbers are significantly higher for Modi supporters with three out of every four Indians sharing the sentiment. Supporters of Modi often boast that he has always taken strong decisions even when they have been politically risky. Many cite demonetisation as one such political risk taken by Modi.

Near majority thinks Modi regime misusing CBI, ED

Close to 50 per cent of Indians seem to believe the Narendra Modi regime is prone to misusing central investigative agencies, such as the the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), to harass political rivals.

One of the major campaign planks of Modi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections was a promise to wage an all-out war against corruption at all levels in the country. Both the CBI and the ED have been in a very aggressive and proactive mode via raid and seizure of properties that have been allegedly acquired using proceeds of corruption.
