Karnataka CM Race LIVE Updates: Siddaramaiah vs Shivakumar: The race to the Karnataka chief minister is on with the state's former chief minister Siddaramaiah and the state's congress chief, DK Shivakumar, emerging as the two bright prospects. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, Karnataka election in-charge, said that party president Mallikarjun Kharge would notify when a decision on the CM choice is taken (Wednesday or Thursday). He also added that a new cabinet would be ready within the next 48-72 hours.
Surejwala also said that the deliberations for the CM choice are going on with Congress chief, Mallikarjun Kharge, in New Delhi. Siddaramiah has been the chief minister of the state from 2013 to 2018 and he emerges as a strong choice for the CM post. But, Shivakumar played a key role in helping the Conngress stage a superb comeback in the 2023 Karnataka Elections, and he can't be overlooked easily.
