National Film Awards 2023 latest news: Winners of the prestigious National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi on Thursday, August 24. The 69th edition of the much-anticipated annual event included a host of iconic films of the year 2021. Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon made their presence felt at the National Film Awards 2023 as each won the best female actor award for their powerful roles in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and 'Mimi', respectively. Allu Arjun too proved his mettle by winning the best male actor award for his versatile role in Telugu blockbuster 'Pushpa: The Rise (Part I)'.

While 'The Kashmir Files' won the Nargis Dutt award for the best film on national integration, 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' got the award for best feature film. The Telugu version of the multilingual film 'RRR' turned out to be the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment. Likewise, filmmaker Shoojit Sircar's film 'Sardar Udham' starring Vicky Kaushal won the best Hindi film award.

Filmmaker Ketan Mehta, who headed the 11-member jury, announced the National Awards.
