Kedarnath Temple Opening Date 2023: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Kedarnath temple is situated in the upper Garhwal Himalayas. After nearly six months of closure, the portals of Kedarnath are re-opening on April 25, 2023.

The gates of the Himalayan temple will open to devotees at 6.20 am on April 25, said PTI citing Badrinath-Kedarnath Mandir Samiti sources. 

The timing and date for the reopening of the temple gates were announced at a ceremony at the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath on Saturday on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri.

The portals of Kedarnath will be opened for devotees on April 25 at 6.20 AM.

For Chardham Yatra, devotees can register themselves through both modes - online and offline. 

For offline registration, there are several registration counters located on the Chardham Yatra route.

Step 2: Click on Register/Login and fill up the form.
Step 3: Chardham Online Registration System will verify the registration through OTP verification on mobile and email.
Step 4: Login using your Mobile number & password.
Step 5: A personalized dashboard will appear, click on Add/ Manage Pilgrims or Tourists to open the window.
Step 6: Add tour plan details such as Tour type, Tour name, Dates of Yatra, and Number of tourists, and add each destination with the date of visit and save the form.
Step 7: After registration completion, a Unique registration number will be sent via SMS
Step 8: Now you will be able to download the registration letter for Chardham Yatra travel.

According to the official website, the best time to visit Kedarnath is May, June, July, August, September, October, and November.

How to reach Kedarnath

By Flight: Jolly Grant Airport (35 km from Dehradun) is the nearest Airport to Kedarnath situated at a distance of 235 km. The Airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights. Also, Gaurikund is well connected by motorable roads with Jolly Grant Airport. Taxis are available from Jolly Grant Airport to Gaurikund.

By Train: The nearest railway station to Gaurikund is Rishikesh, which is situated 243 km before Gaurikund on NH58. Rishikesh is well connected by railway networks with major destinations of India.

Gaurikund is well connected by motorable roads with Rishikesh. It should be noted that taxis and buses are available from Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Tehri and many other destinations to Gaurikund.

By Road: Gaurikund is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Uttarakhand state. Buses to Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Srinagar are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate New Delhi. 

Buses and Taxis to Gaurikund are easily available from major destinations of Uttarakhand state like Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Tehri etc. Gaurikund is connected with Ghaziabad by National Highway 58.
