In Maharashtra, people celebrated Gudi Padwa on April 9. Marathi people make Gudi on this day. To make Gudi, a brass vessel is placed upside down on a pillar, it is decorated with dark-colored silk, red, yellow or saffron cloth and garlands of flowers and Ashoka leaves. Gudi is also called Brahmadhwaj.
