Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi, is the first day of the five-day-long Diwali festivities. Dhanteras is celebrated every year on the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi of the Kartik month, as per the Vikrami calendar. On this day, Lord Dhanvantari is worshipped, and people purchase personal and household products. Dhanteras is celebrated on Friday, November 10, this year.
