The Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan starrer was released on September 30. The film is a Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil movie of the same name, starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi.

Written and directed by Tamil director duo Pushkar-Gayatri, the film also stars Rohit Saraf, Radhika Apte, Yogita Bihani, Sharib Hashmi and Satyadeep Mishra.

The film follows the story of Vikram, a no-nonsense police officer, accompanied by Simon, his partner, is on the hunt to capture Vedha, a smuggler and a murderer. Vedha tries to change Vikram's life, which leads to a conflict.

The basic idea of `Vikram Vedha` is based on the Indian mythological story of Vikram and Betaal.

Elaborating on the same, Hrithik said in an answer to IANS, "To take something like this that we have all heard in our childhood and create this entire story of `Vikram Vedha` and to use it as a device, it`s so sharp," an IANS report said.

He further mentioned, "We have so many of such stories in our mythology and folklore. I think we need to re-look at this treasure, there`s so much fodder in there from a storytelling point of view," an IANS report added.

Presented by T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks and Jio Studios, `Vikram Vedha` is a YNOT Studios Production, an IANS report said.
