Karan Johar's much-anticipated directorial comeback, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles, has been performing well at the box office despite facing a slight dip on its first Monday. The film managed to cross Rs 50 crore mark within four days of its release, securing a total collection of Rs 53.40 crore so far, since its release on July 28.

The film also stars industry veterans Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. The romantic drama is a collaborative production by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios.  

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh along with director Karan Johar took to social media to celebrate the film's success and expressed their gratitude for the love and support received from the audiences. The film continues to perform strongly at the box office, despite facing tough competition from other releases.

Collections

The film was released on July 28, and it managed to secure Rs 45.90 crore net in India during its opening weekend. On its fourth day, despite experiencing a slight drop in collections, it earned around Rs 7.50 crore.

Internationally, the film has been received well, earning $4 million in gross collections and becoming the second Hindi film to cross 50,000 Euros in Germany during its first weekend. The film, was shot in various locations including Mumbai, New Delhi, Russia, and Jammu & Kashmir.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk.com, the romantic drama collected Rs 7.5 crore in India on fourth day. The movie grossed Rs 45.90 crore at domestic box office in the first three days. On its opening day the Ranveer Singh starrer opened to a good response at the theatres with a total collection of more than Rs 11 crore.

The overall occupancy of the movie on its fourth day in Hindi belt was reported at 18.02 per cent with night shows recording the highest occupancy rate of 27.36 per cent. The positive word-of-mouth and reviews from both audiences and critics along with the film's promising start and sustained performance over the weekdays seem to pave the way for its potential entry into the Rs 100 crore club.
