Bollywood actress Rani Mukherji's upcoming movie “Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway” is all set to hit theaters in the second week of March. The film is based on a real incident of a Bengali couple that shook the world in 2012.

The movie will hit the theatre on March 17, 2023. Its first teaser was released on February 23, 2023.

The film will feature Rani Mukherji as Mrs Chatterjee and Anirban Bhattacharya, a famous Bengali theatre artist in the lead roles.  Jim Sarbh and Neena Gupta will also be seen in the film as lead characters.

 

‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway': Plot 

 

The story revolves around the life of a Bengali couple who shifted to Norway and faced legal complications over the custody of their children. 

In 2011, their children were taken away by Barnevarne, which is also known as Norwegian Child Welfare Services. It had alleged the mother of improper treatment of their children. 

First, they appealed in a Norwegian court but failed, and then to the Ministry of External Affairs, which made the Government of India intervene.
 This story is based on a real-life incident. In 2022, Sagarika Chakraborty’s autobiography, “The Journey Of A Mother” was published. The movie is based on this book, with Rani playing Sagarika’s character.

 

‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway': Budget

 

The movie is helmed by Emmy Entertainment and Zee Studios at an estimated budget of around Rs 30-35 crores.

Mukherji was last seen in the second franchise of Bunty aur Babli, released in 2021, alongside Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Sharvari Wagh.
