Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan's relationship with injuries is old. Four decades ago, he fell into a coma on the set of his film, Coolie, when Mahabharat-famed actor Punit Issar punched him in the stomach. On Monday, Bachchan was again on the receiving end as he got injured during the shoot of an action sequence for his upcoming film, Project K, in Hyderabad. The actor was rushed to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, where he underwent a CT scan. It was revealed that the veteran actor has suffered a muscle tear in his right rib cage and is currently taking rest at his home in Mumbai.

After he got injured, Bachchan penned a note for his fans on his blog. The actor informed his fans that he is back at his home in Mumbai and is resting. "I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities .. but yes in rest and generally lying around... It shall be difficult or let me say. I shall be unable to meet, the well-wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening. so do not come .. and do inform as much as you can to those that intend to come... All else is well," he wrote.

In his 53-year-long career as an actor, Big B has suffered many injuries during the shoot. Zee Biz takes you through a couple of instances when Bachchan suffered an injury during a shoot.

1. In 1982, Amitabh suffered a major injury while shooting a fight sequence with Puneet for the film Coolie. Puneet mistakenly punched hard in his stomach, causing serious injuries to his internal organs. The actor was admitted to St. Philomena’s Hospital in Bengaluru, and emergency surgery was performed. Later, he was flown to Mumbai and admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, where he fell into a "haze and coma-like situation" and was "clinically dead for a couple of minutes".

2. Last year, in October, the Bollywood superstar suffered a calf injury on the sets of the show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. He suffered a cut in his leg's vein. It started bleeding, and he was rushed to the hospital.
‘Project K’ is a pan-Indian science fiction film that also stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in lead roles alongside Bachchan. Other than this, the Bollywood actor was last seen in ‘Goodbye’ alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Pavail Gulati, and Neena Gupta. Apart from that, he will also headline Ribhu Dasgupta's courtroom drama, 'Section 84'.
