The second Friday and Saturday collection of Drishyam 2 were sizeable and the film has managed to break into the "Rs 100 crore club". Moviegoers credit this to outstanding performances from all actors cast in the sequel of the equally-successful Drishyam.

Drishyam 2 released on November 18, and earned Rs 14.05 crore on day 9 (Saturday) at the domestic box office. The overall collection stood at Rs 126.58 crores in the last nine days.

According to analyst Taran Adarsh, the film went on overdrive on its second Saturday. The crime thriller film is giving a tough competition to all the other films in theatres, he added.

"#Drishyam2 continues its PHENOMENAL RUN… Goes on an OVERDRIVE on [second] Sat… Poses tough competition to all films - new as well as holdover titles… Will pack a SOLID PUNCH on [second] Sun as well… [Week 2] Fri 7.87 cr, Sat 14.05 cr. Total: ₹ 126.58 cr. #India biz (sic)," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Drishyam 2 Story
The film is a sequel to Ajay Devgn’s 2015 crime thriller “Drishyam”, which was the Hindi remake of the Mohanlal-starrer Malayalam movie of the same name. The sequel to the Malayalam film released in February last year.

The story revolves a family of four whose lives turn upside-down following an unfortunate incident that happens to their elder daughter. In “Drishyam 2”, Ajay Devgn has reprised his role of Vijay Salgoankar. The movie also stars Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, and Ishita Dutta, besides new entrant Akshaye Khanna.
