Brahmastra Box Office Collection Day 4: The Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt-starrer Brahmastra: Part 1 - Shiva comfortably passed the Monday Litmus Test, said film critic Sumit Kadel. The multilingual film collected Rs 15-17 crore in all languages on its 4th day (Monday, September 12). In total, the movie has collected over 140-142 crore.

"#Brahmastra  Comfortably passed  Monday Litmus Test-  Clocks ₹ 15-17 cr nett in all languages on its day 4 which’ll take its total to ₹ 140-142 cr nett," Sumit Kadel tweeted on Monday.

The film was released in India across 5,019 screens and debuted at No. 1 with a three-day weekend of Rs 125 crore. The film`s overseas screen count was 3,894, an IANS report said.

Produced by Star Studios and Dharma Productions, the film follows the story of Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) who sets out in search of love and self-discovery. During his journey, he has to face many evil forces that threaten the world's existence. 

Director Ayan Mukerji gave a collection update via his Instagram Stories. The "Wake Up Sid" director wrote, "Brahmastra has gotten off to a great start with audiences over its first weekend! The feeling is only of Gratitude, and more Gratitude for our Audiences!"

In the accompanying post he wrote, "The Acceptance from Audiences - is the only reward we work for at the movies. The Future of the Brahmastra Trilogy, and the Astraverse, eventually lies in the hands of our Audience, and this weekend we have received back from them... Light - for the years of work that went into this Venture!"

The film was released on September 9 and is currently in theatres in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. "RRR" director S S Rajamouli presents "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva" in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, a PTI report said.
