However, this makes it the second-biggest opener of the year after Hrithik Roshan-starrer Fighter, which grossed Rs 24.6 crore on the first day.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, action-entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan debuted at the box office with Rs 15.5 crore net in all Indian languages.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, was released with the Ajay Devgn film Maidaan, which debuted at the box office with an equally disappointing Rs 7.1 crore, according to Sacnilk. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is an action flick that Akshay termed as a "Bad Boys-like film" during the trailer release. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chillar, and Alaya F, among others. The film which was produced by Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani, had a budget of more than Rs 300 crore.
