Priced at Rs 7,799, the smartphone is available at Rs 5,999 right now. It comes in a single RAM and storage variant and three colour options - Gravity Black, Mystery White and Alpenglow Gold.

Tecno Pop 8 Review: Design

The smartphone has a textured pattern at the back that makes it fingerprint and smudge-resistant. While the design is not completely new, the device looks cool in black colour. It looks sturdy and feels comfortable to hold in hand. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which works efficiently.

Tecno Pop 8 Review: Display

The smartphone has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display that supports a refresh rate of 90Hz. While scrolling feels smooth, the viewing experience is decent considering the price of the device. The good thing is that it comes with dual speakers, which is very rare in smartphones available under Rs 6,000. While the speakers are loud enough, they lack the bass.

Tecno Pop 8 Review: Performance and Software

The smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset which is capable enough of handling all your basic tasks. It has 4GB RAM (which is expandable up to 8GB) and 64GB internal storage. You can also play some light games like Candy Crush and Subway Surfer easily. But make sure not to leave too many apps running in the background.

Tecno Pop 8 boots on Android 13 with HiOS 13. It offers sufficient features and customisation options for an entry-level smartphone but comes with very few pre-installed apps like Palm Store and AHA Games.

Tecno Pop 8 Review: Camera

The Tecno Pop 8 has a dual camera setup at the rear with a primary sensor of 12MP. It is accompanied by an AI lens dual-LED flash. For selfies, it has an 8MP front camera.

The rear camera clicks decent images in good lighting conditions but don't expect much in low-light situations. The selfie camera too manages to click images that justify the price tag.

Tecno Pop 8 Review: Battery and performance

The smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 10W charging. Charging is slow but you cannot complain about it because of the price of the smartphone. However, the device will easily last for more than a day on a full charge.

Tecno Pop 8 Review: Verdict

If you are looking to buy a smartphone under Rs 7,000, the Tecno Pop 8 is certainly one of the best options available as it comes with a large display with a Dynamic Port feature, a good refresh rate and dual speakers. All these features make it an easy pick.
