Portronics Ruffpad 15M Review: If you are one of those who wanted to use a stylus, once a fad, but haven't been able to do so yet, here we are going to tell you something worth trying. The best part is that you can fulfil your wish of using the stylus at just Rs 1,399, over even less. We are talking about the Portronics Ruffpad 15M coloured smart pad that comes with app support - for both iOS and Android. But mind it, this is only for writing and drawing, more or less like slate - which some of you might have used in childhood. While Portornics Ruffpad 15M manages to give several hits at this price, there are some misses as well. Find out more about it in the complete review.

Let's start with the design of the Ruffpad 15M. Despite being sleek and lightweight, it sports a large 15-inch LCD. It's just 6.6mm thick and weighs 340 gm, making it very handy and you can carry it almost anywhere. But be careful as a large LCD screen which is as thin as Ruffpad 15M can be fragile. It comes with a minimalist design and just has a round button on the front. The one-tap button upfront can be used to erase whatever you have written or doodled on the screen. To tackle the problem of accidental erases, the Ruffpad 15M comes with a smart lock switch on the rear. Just slide the button and it will ensure that whatever you are going to write on the screen will remain there.

Before we discuss how the stylus actually performs, let us tell you that this device does not require any charging and is powered by a 3V user-replaceable coin cell. The company claims that it can easily last for months.

The Portronics Ruffpad 15M comes with an App, available for both Android and iOS, that lets you save and share your creativity. Download the app easily by scanning the QR code on the packaging and give access to photos. Now save the content on the display by taking a picture of it. Before saving it in a file structure, you also get an option of cropping the image. This is something you can do even without downloading the app by simply clicking images and saving them to your gallery.

But we strongly feel that adding certain things to the Portronics Ruffpad 15M could have made it a complete package. The first one is 'undo' option. Currently, you either get a lock option, to stop accidental erases or a delete option that clears the entire thing written or doodles on the display. Second is having more control to choose the colour. Currently, we don't have this leverage and the colours will appear randomly. We can see green, blue, yellow and orange colours. Third and the most important one is that the device should have better palm rejection technology. While using the tablet, small smudges of colours would appear on the screen if your palm or hand makes contact with the display. As you don't have an undo option, any accidental touch can ruin your entire drawing or doodle.

Overall, this is a very affordable device, environment friendly too. One can either use it for writing notes or consider giving it to kids.
